Lima
In view of the urban growth in Lima, cellars opened stores in the city, specifically in the districts of Pueblo Libre, Surco and Pachacamac. To the south, out of the metropolitan area, in the province of Cañete, good pisco can be found in the district of Santa Cruz de Flores.
Lunahuaná
Before the bridge crossing the Cañete river, the adjoined town of Socsi has piscos that have obtained gold medals in national events. The town of Jita is famous for its Italia pisco. Up in the valley, in Catapalla, there are a wide variety of macerate pisco and other good piscos.
Chincha
Excellent wines and piscos are produced throughout the valley of Chincha. The “Tabernero” cellar stands out, with piscos exported to the United States. Its wines and piscos have also been awarded gold and silver medals in the wine festivals of Paris, France.
Ica
The District of Guadalupe, with its excellent wines and piscos, is located a few kilometers from the city of Ica. The Center of Vinicultural Technological Innovation (CITEvid) is the institution in charge of contributing with new technologies for the growing of vineyards and the preparation of piscos and wines. Ica is the most important production valley, and it has hundreds of good pisco cellars to visit. In the District of Subtanjalla, you can taste excellent pure pisco and lemon-aromatized pisco. The most important cellars in Ica are “Tacama”, “Vista Alegrle” and “Bodega y Viñedos La Caravedo”, which is one of the oldest pisco producers and vineyards in South America, with 323 years of history. A couple of kilometers from Ica, behind the sandy areas, you can find de “Ocucaje” cellar.
Arequipa, Moquegua y Tacna
Favored by the area’s particular climate conditions, the producers make excellent Italia and Green Must piscos. “Omo”, one of the most famous Peruvian cellars and producer of the well-known “Biondi” pisco, is located here. Moquegua is home to cellars that have reached the 21st Century and are now considered a legacy of the past. Other areas that produce high quality pisco are Ilo, the valley of Vitor, the valley of Majes—where the Vinicultural Research Center is located—and Magollo in Tacna, among others.
