Our flagship drink opened its presentation in the Distil 2008 spirits fair in a 13-meter long stand reading “Pisco is Peru”.
After months of coordination between the public and private sector, pisco has been presented to the demanding world of international spirits in a way never seen before. Without a doubt, ours was the most remarkable stand in the fair, exhibiting over 170 bottles of pisco variations. Some of them are collection items lent by their owners to show pisco’s history and originality to the world.
The stand was divided in three sections where attendants could enjoy the pure flavor and consistency of the different pisco varieties and brands on their own, unmixed. At the other end, Pisco Sour could be enjoyed in comfortable bar-like stools.

Finally, in the center of the stand, the famous and talented barman Hans Hilburg challenges the most demanding palates with his creative cocktails based on tropical fruits of the Peruvian Amazonia.
The specialized Distil fair is visited by liquor distributors from around the world looking for new products. This year, with its outstanding participation, pisco has been brought to light as a top‑quality product and symbol of the Peruvian culture.
The drink was presented as a symbol of the Peruvian culture by the renown “piscologist” Johnny Schuler, who led the official tasting ceremony attended by the Peruvian Ambassador in the United Kingdom, Mr. Ricardo V. Luna, and the president of the fair, British entrepreneur and historian, Mr. John Hemming.
Through the tasting of three pisco varieties, Mr. Schuler brought the attendants closer to the basic principles and benefits of pisco.
The Distil 2008 fair will last until Thursday 22nd, and over 6000 attendees are expected.
The participation of our drink in this important international event was made possible thanks to the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PromPeru, Universidad San Martin de Porres, the Regulatory Council for the Pisco Appellation of Origin, the Ministry of Production, Backus company, a group of pisco production companies, and the Embassy and Consulate of Peru in the United Kingdom.
