London, May 19th, 2008
Never before had pisco been presented to the demanding world of international cocktails.
Today, May 19th, gave rise to such opportunity through the Pisco Fine Mixology Workshop, presented as a preamble to Peru’s participation in London Distil. It was held by master taster Jhonny Schuler and master bartender Hans Hilburg before 14 barmen from London’s most prestigious bars and restaurants. The workshop was organized by Simon Difford, one of the most important international experts in cocktail making, absolute connoisseur for the European market and editor of the influential Difford´s Guide to Cocktails. https://www.diffordsguide.com

During the workshop, the attending barmen heard about the history of Pisco, its preparation process, and main characteristics. Hans Hilburg provided theoretical and practical guidelines for preparing Peru’s traditional cocktails, English cocktails adapted to pisco, and proprietary cocktails combining pisco with exotic fruits available in London markets (camu camu, passion fruit and eggfruit).
The London Distil fairs opens tomorrow and expects an attendance of 6000 people, including producers, distributors, specialized media, and professionals. For three days, the impressive stand will exhibit over 200 brands, offering products of 28 leading brands to be tasted under the “Pisco is Peru” country brand.
This participation is made possible thanks to the participation of 28 pisco producing companies, the sponsorship of Universidad San Martin de Porres, Promperu, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Regulatory Council for the Pisco Appellation of Origin, the Ministry of Production, sponsor companies and the invaluable collaboration of the Embassy and Consulate of Peru in the United Kingdom.
