The Ministry of Production (PRODUCE) and CONAPISCO, through the Vice-Ministry of Industry and Domestic Trade, identified the need to prepare and publish a “Pisco Producers Directory” in order to provide reliable and updated information about the productive activity of such an important manufacturing and industrial sector, responsible for producing our flagship drink: pisco.
The directory permits to register the producers' basic characteristics, geographic location, legal name, product trademark, appellation of origin certificate,
representatives, legal address, telephone, fax and e-mail, facilitating the update and optimization of statistics and the definition of actions to further the industrial development of pisco. The “Pisco Producers Directory” was prepared in several stages. The first stage identified the producers affected by the earthquake of 2007 and produced the list of companies in the regions of Lima and Ica. The second stage saw the collection of information about producers in the regions of Arequipa, Moquegua and Tacna. The third stage mainly complemented the information about pisco producers with entries from other databases, such as INDECOPI’s and those of the Regional Directorates for Production.
